2008 in retrospect...

This past year has definitely been a full one! I'm having a hard time wrapping my brain around the fact that it’s over. Looking back…

Wildbound and Foot Zone Therapy classes. Wildman still plugging away at school, with graduation getting closer. He is still working at Macey’s, is their Front End Supervisor, with 90+ employees to watch over. Stargirl in 1st Grade and loving every minute of it. Wildkid getting eager to start school, too. Wildman, the second counselor in the Elder’s Quorum and on the Ward Activities Committee. Wildbound, the Ward Chorister and Ward Food Storage Specialist.

Spring, and an early graduation gift for Wildman, in the form of a 2005 Honda CRV. So, road trip around the state of Utah for the “maiden voyage”. We visited St. George, Kanab, Monument Valley, Goosenecks o f the San Juan, Moki Dugway, Natural Bridges National Monument, Moab, Arches, Canyonlands, Goblin Valley, Little Wild Horse, and the Great Gallery…all in the same trip. It’s official, we love the Honda. Stargirl's teeth fall out.

Wildbound certified in Foot Zone Therapy, taught her first Yoga class since after her accident. Trained her first client’s horse since the accident. Both kids got the Chicken Pox, after we found out the nasty little virus was making the rounds through the first grade. Wildman graduates!!!Western Governor’s University, with a B.S. in Human Resource Management. Then, off to Lake Powell for one last Hoorah on Uncle Kevin’s houseboat and wave runners. Oh, yeah.

Wildman, cleaning/renovating the barn/ tack room. Makes room for Wildbound's crazy new horse, Rio (affectionately known as Rio Loco, Mr. Peaches, Sunshine, and Twinkle Toes.) He’s a real life My Little Pony. Really. Wildbound getting geared up and ready to show Shrek (dad’s horse) in the RMMHC annual horse show, this time in Ogden—therefore cannot be passed up. Had a lot of fun and remembered how much work it is to show a horse. Learned a lot about jumping. Almost got over her fear of falling off and being crushed. Wildman was the announcer. He always does a fantastic job.

Horse camping in the Uintas, Preece Annual Reunion, starting school. Stargirl in 2nd Grade, Wildkid starting Kindergarten. Harvest season starts. Bottled 45 bottles of peaches, 125 bottles of grape juice, about 15 bottles of apple pie filling, 40 bottles of tomatoes. Gathering food storage.

Trip to Colorado for Thanksgiving. Football Bonanza! What fun! Family time.

Wildkid learning to read, quickly. So fun to watch him grow and learn. Stargirl maturing. She is becoming very observant, emotionally. Stargirl’s teeth grow in, finally. Stargirl got baptized! Kids grow out of their clothes. Again. Wildbound re-learns how to sew. Oh, Wildbound loves to sew! See Wildbound sew. Sew, sew, sew. Wildman making things with wood. Picture frames, pencil holders, a new entertainment center for the 50” Plasma Flat Screen TV he won at his summer work party. Yeah, Baby.

We are incredibly blessed. I am frequently amazed at how our lives have turned out, at how much we are watched over and taken care of. We truly have a very mindful Father in Heaven who loves us and knows what’s best for us. We hope you had a “wild” holiday season, and we look forward to the wonderful times ahead!
