Because you don't have to worry about how clean or not clean your house is when someone "drops by" your blogsite.
Because it’s “a swap meet for the mind.”
It's a way to find your voice.
It's a great way to polish up those writing skills, or discover them.
It's a way to journal "in the now".
It's a great way to brag about how awesome you and your kids and your significant other are...
You can create and stay "in the loop" of your circle of family/friends.
It keeps you always aware and alert (for new blogging material anyway...)
It's a great way to learn new techno-geek skills.

It's a great way to make friends with cool people all over the country when you're stuck at home.
It makes you take pictures of things you normally wouldn't (wounds, eating breakfast, fruit/gardens,etc.) just so you can blog it. And of course the phrase, "Keep talking - I'm blogging this" always comes to mind.
It's easier to redesign your blog site than your living room. ;-)
