Traveling To and Fro...

Last weekend Aaron and I made a quick trip back to Cache Valley for a funeral of an old friend. We left early enough we began in the dark, with some incredible fog.  I LOVE fog.  Below are some pics of the foggy morning and sunrise....

Then we approached the Bear Lake valley, only to see fog and more fog. We could barely see the lake, even though we were driving right next to it. As we headed up Logan Canyon, we were able to get above the fog and had a spectacular view of what we'd been driving through!

And Bear Lake/Wyoming, looking southeast...with the rising sun

After spending some time catching up with friends in Cache Valley, we ran a whole bunch or errands, including getting the SUV serviced, and headed back home. We thought the fog would have burned off by the afternoon, but no--it was still blanketed!  So cool!

And Wyoming, covered still....

And, of course, our Wind Rivers--or, as the locals say, "the Winds"....

And entering our little town of Pinedale.

Funerals are so strange, sad, awkward and wonderful all at once. Glad you got to go back.

And those are some great shots - the last one, with the "winds" in the background, could be used by the bureau of tourism (just edit out the big broken truck).
