We didn't do much but unpack on the eve of the new year, and Aaron was working late...but we had the first day of the new year all to ourselves! We cooked an incredible turkey dinner, and took turns soaking in the sun pouring through the windows....
Our new-to-us piano, with my Dad's painting above it. :)
Aaron, getting the drippings for gravy. It was truly mouth-watering....
The kids set the table, and filled our goblets with home grown fresh-pressed cider...a little taste of cache valley...
And the most delectable turkey dinner possibly ever. The turkey was amazingly succulent, the dressing was crispy and loaded with flavor (pine nuts, from our beloved desert) and the gravy was AMAZING. All made from scratch. 'Cause that's how we roll.
After lunch, and games...we drove a whopping 9 minutes to Half-Moon lake. It was frozen over, and some people were ice-fishing. We had never walked on a frozen lake, so it was a first for us. So fun! And a little creepy...we will be taking the dogs next time for some epic frisbee and ball playing.
The road to the lake...
The parking lot...
The trail to the "dock"...
And the lake! wahoo!
All in all, a wonderful day spent together and getting to know our new area.
