Tickling Kokanee

In celebration of AT's Birthday this month, we headed to the annual Kokanee Salmon Run at Porcupine Resevoir, just a hop-skip and a jump from here. We had a lot of fun watching the orange/red fish jump waterfalls etc. There were even some attempts at "tickling" the slippery things, tho the water was so cold, it was hard to keep hands in it for very long. We even took a walk downstream towards the very low resevoir...and had fun following the stream to the outlet.

We thought of AT, who introduced us to the activity 4 years ago...and wished him a happy birthday, for today! ;)

Can't think of a much better way to spend the evening. Your kids will tell stories about it to theirs.

These pictures are amazing! Apparantly this is what RedFish was like years ago. Can't wait to show Marysa - she will love them. Going to the fish hatchery is a favorite of hers. Thanks for a background picture for my desktop - again!
