After watching Wildkid zoom back and forth for over a year now, Stargirl has finally joined the ranks of elite Bike Riders. This month she did it! After many unsuccessful attempts at teaching her, Wildman and I gave up to wait until she wanted it enough. She would often freak out in frustration if we were helping her and she couldn't "get it". One day, she came and told me she named her bike (Princess) and that now Princess talked to her. Princess wanted to be taken for a "walk". This looked like Stargirl straddling her bike, with her feet touching the ground, gently pushing herself around, but not peddaling. Then one day, she came in and told me she could ride her bike. Below is the aftermath!
She and Wildkid now ride their bikes out to the bus stop. They love riding together and spend many hours riding around our perfect driveway.
